BMW Motorrad Achieves Record Sales for Eighth Consecutive Year

While other motorcycle companies are fretting about the industry and where it is headed, BMW Motorrad just recorded an eighth consecutive year of record sales. It helps that BMW Motorrad launched six new models in 2018. In total, the company sold 165,566 scooters and motorcycles, topping 2017’s numbers. Now, the goal is to sell more than 200,000 bikes in 2020. You can be a part of the next record by purchasing new BMW motorcycles in San Diego, CA.

Popular Bikes to Ride

In America alone, sales increased by more than 2% to 13,842 bikes sold. The BMW K1600B Grand America was a hot seller, but the R1200GS continues to be the most popular bike along with the R nine T models.

Europe continues to be the largest market for BMW with about 24,000 bikes sold in Germany, 14,000 sold in France and an additional 11,000 in Spain. Surprisingly, China saw an increase of 35% last year while Brazil brought in another 11% increase.

Worldwide popularity continues to be the R1250GS/Adventure variants. Another popular option has been the G310R plus the G310GS, probably because of the bikes’ compact size.
